With coming to and end, aand the garden and flower beds winding down, I am spending a bit more time in the studio. It is nice to find creative time to feed the muse.
Elton Finds a Fairy is created from a clay mask that I had made a few months back, finally repurposed into this 15" mixed media piece. Elton is a one-of-a-kind piece with doe suede body, cloth over clay mask face, hand knit hair, free-motion embroidery shoes and his catch of the day is a little felt fairy embellished with silk ribbon and flowers.
As with many of the dolls, he took on a life and direction of his own during the creative process!
